A Welcome Message from Pastor David
When I first met the Saint Andrew’s congregation I was impressed by this community’s passion for loving people—within the congregation, in our community, and around the world. The intention to ensure that everyone has a place was exciting to me. It is visible in the God’s Work, Our Hands day of service that lasts literally weeks. It is visible in the way that the prayer team holds members and so many others in prayer not just on Sunday but everyday of the week. It is visible in the passion for worship this community lives.
Whether you join us on Zoom or in a seat, on Sunday or on Wednesday evening, I pray that God’s presence in love, in affirmation, in belonging will be so very apparent to you. For more information about worship times check this out. If you are wondering about those ways to serve others near and far check this out. Pondering how you and your children will be welcomed, check this out. Want to hang out with the pastor and see what he’s thinking? Drop me a note here.
My wife, Dawn, and I moved to Columbia in January 2018. Before serving as pastor here, I served in Albion, Nebraska, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Whether urban, rural or a college town, I have found each setting to be filled with wonderful blessings. God is indeed good.
I am a 2002 graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Before going to seminary I had served for over ten years as an academic advisor at Wichita State University. In addition to my Masters of Divinity from WTS, I also bring a Masters of Education in Counseling to my role as pastor.
I would love the opportunity to become better acquainted. Join your siblings in Christ as we worship God. Come and explore what God is doing in this place.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor David Frerichs
